The Jaquet Droz large seconds series was born in 2002 and has now become a model of the brand. On the occasion of the 280th anniversary of the brand’s founding, Jaquet Droz paid his sincere respect to this aesthetic tradition. To this end, the brand launched the large second “Tribute” watch, which is the first gold watch launched by Jaquet Droz.
This work fully demonstrates Jaquet Droz’s continuous innovation concept while respecting the brand tradition. The big second “Tribute” watch faithfully continues the wonderful history of the brand since 1784, leading us to directly appreciate the charm of the 300-year haute horology tradition, and it is in the same line with the brand’s classic timepieces. This watch will also have a brilliant mark in the new century.
The brand completely retains the original design concept of Pierre Jaquet-Droz. The hour and minute hands are set at 12 o’clock, and the time scale surpasses the trend of two centuries. The design of alternating Roman and Arabic numerals makes the reading of the double dial clear. At 6 o’clock, a larger round seconds dial is set up to form the figure “8” shape, reflecting the iconic style of Jaquet Droz. This replica watches also has a Grand Feu enamel dial. The silicon escapement mechanism (hairspring and pallet fork) can resist the influence of magnetic field and temperature changes, ensuring accurate timekeeping quality. The oscillating weight of the large second “Tribute” watch has undergone two special finishing treatments: first, it is decorated with traditional handmade plaid carvings, and then decorated with the brand’s iconic double star pattern. The two polished and polished stars symbolize the Jacques Droz father and son who wrote a new chapter in the rich history of the brand.
